The E-paths are designated by the European Ramblers Association and form a European Network of 11 long distance walking routes. They are running for many thousands of kilometers across the whole of Europe. The Cyprus section (530 km) is part of path E4 which starts or finishes at Larnaca or Paphos airport. It goes through Cape Greko, up into the Troodos Mountains and down to the Akamas region. Along the way it takes ramblers through areas of exceptional beauty and significant ecological, historical, cultural and scientific interest and value.

Itineraries

Up to the eastern edge of Europe

3-4 nights, accommodation in Larnaca and Ayia Napa

Walk from Larnaca to Ayia Napa and Protaras. During the walking you have the opportunity to pass from many must-to-see places. Some of them are: Hala Sultan Tekke, one of the most important mosques of Mediterranean, a Salt Lake, St Lazarus church, the sea caves, cape Greco, some chapels, a Venetian monastery.

Rural Ammohostos and Larnaca

5-6 nights, accommodation in agrotouristic establishments

The greater part of this route passes mainly through rural areas. It starts at Sotira, it passes from Pyla Forest and ends at Avdellero and Klavdia villages.

Rural Larnaca and Lefkosia

4-5 nights, accommodation in agrotouristic establishments

Start from rural Larnaca and finish at Fikardou traditional village. During your walking you can visit a royal chapel, Stavrovouni monastery, Machairas monastery, traditional and protected villages.

Troodos massif A. Highest peaks of Cyprus

4-5 nights, accommodation in agrotouristic establishments

Start from Fikardou village and finish at Fini mountainous village 950 m altitude.
During this itinerary you will pass from little Byzantine chapels, a monastery, trout farms, kalidonia waterfalls and the central square of Troodos.

Troodos massif B. Pafos Forest

4-5 nights, accommodation in agrotouristic establishments

Walk from Fini traditional village known for its special pottery, pass through some hidden little villages, visit the Kykkos monastery, traverse the unique cedar valley and the mouflon reserve.

Akamas region. Paths of Aphrodite

7 nights, accommodation in agrotouristic and other establishments

Descent from the mountains to the sea level. Pass through the vineyards of Pafos district and the beautiful traditional villages of the area. You will follow the steps of the goddess of love and beauty in the peninsula of Akamas with the amazing views and cool springs. Visit the protected beach of Lara to see the green turtles and the Caretta caretta turtles and traverse the most famous gorge of Cyprus, Avakas gorge.

Pegia village to the airport of Pafos

3-4 nights, accommodation in agrotouristic establishments

Pass through the rural areas of Pafos, full of vineyards, cypress trees, fertile valleys and little springs to arrive finally at the International airport of Pafos.
