Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival and Transfer to the hotel/agrotouristic establishment

If time permits the visitors will enjoy a walking tour around the village.

Day 2

Kalidonia trail. (10 km, 4 hours)

The trail is linear, and the ramblers will go up and return back. It passes through a dense forest and then runs alongside the Cold River (Krios Potamos), which has running water all year round. It passes by the Kalidonia Waterfall. While hiking you can study the endemic plants: Troodos sage (Salvia willeana), Purple Rock ­ Cress (Arabis purpurea), Thorny gorse (Genista fasselata subsp. crudelis), Urse mint (Mentha longifolia subsp. cyprica), Aphrodite’s spurge (Euphorbia veneris), Golden oak (Quercus alnifolia). Overnight at Platres.

Day 3

Pouziaris trail (13km, 6 hours)

At the location Psilodentro in Pano Platres village is the starting and ending point of this trail which will take you a round through the dense forest of Troodos. Along the trail you will experience beautiful panoramic views. Overnight at Platres.

Day 4

E4 trail. (20 km, 6 hours)

The walkers will use part of the E4 path from Platres. The trail will take you through the dense forest of Troodos at a picnic place and afterwards you will continue hiking until the village Treis Elies. Overnight at the village.

Day 5

Venetian bridges. (15km, 5 hours)

You will explore the flora of the village through a short trail inside the village and then you proceed towards the west to walk an old trade route with venetian bridges. The river flows all year round offering an interesting experience for the hikers. At the end, a vehicle will take you at a traditional and picturesque village, Omodos. Overnight at the village.

Day 6

Stroll of the village and Departure

Walk through the narrow streets of the village to visit an ancient monastery, old wine presses, taste the local wine and traditional delicacies, discover the rural architecture of Cyprus. Transfer to the airport for departure.
